We Gathered at the River

On Sunday, June 3, 2007, our church gathered below the Sutton Dam
at the Elk River for a very special service.  First, Doug led a
short (believe it or not!) and meaningful worship service at the
picnic shelter.  As we walked to the river, a gentle sprinkle came
down on all of us, like a reminder of the baptism many of us had
already experienced.  Pastor Doug was assisted by David Jordan
and Eric Skidmore as 16 people made their commitment to Christ
and were baptized.  We all renewed our commitment as we promised
to support these people.  (click picture to enlarge)

Afterwards, we went back to the shelter and enjoyed a wonderful
covered-dish dinner, with grill king Dave Hoover and
assistants, and time of fellowship.  It was truly a memorable
experience!
