Joy and Don Fritz travelled to Lititz and Reading, Pennsylvania
on of September 14th-16th to visit friends and to attend Joy's
45th High School reunion. The weekend started with a visit on
Friday evening to Lititz, Pa to attend the birthday party of
Elizabeth Stief who was just about to turn 7 years old. Fun
was had by all, especially Elizabeth as she opend all the
birthday presents and blew out her candle. I'd like you to
remember Elizabeth and her sister Victoria and her father and
mother in you prayer's because her mother Kristy has recently
been diagnosed with Hodgkins disease and has just started
chemo treatments. As you can see from the photo Kristy is
wearing a head cover because she has already lost all her hair.

On Saturday morning Joy and Don travelled to Meyerstown
PA to visit Joy's father Harold Ringler who is living at the
Myerstown Evangelical Congregational Retirement Village and
Nursing Home. Harold will be 91 on October 31, 2007.
Here is a picture of Harold and Joy taken
last Summer. After visiting at Myerstown,
Joy and Don returned to Lititz to get ready
for the reunion. They travelled to
Shillington, Pa to join in the fun and
reminiscing. Here's Joy getting
reacquainted.
The day ended with a return
trip back to Lititz just in time
to join in on a Baptism Party
for their friend's Grandson
Carter. It was a busy
weekend with the six and a
half hour return trip back to
WV.

The Christ Church United Methodist Womens group is once
again taking part in Billy Graham's mission project -
Operation Christmas Child. Each year Operation Christmas
Child delivers millions of gift-shoe boxes to hurting children
around the world. This project is personal - a shoe box gift
can be as unique as the person packing it. It's simple way to
share the love of God to children in dire need.
If you wish to take part in this Christmas Mission, simply get
an old shoe box or a plastic box approximately the same size.
Determine if you gift will be for a girl or boy. Select an age
catagory [2-4, 5-9, or 10-14]. Use the appropriate boy/girl
label from the brochure you receive at church. Mark the
correct age category and tape the label to the top of your
box (Do not seal the box). Bring it to and a $7.00 shipping
and handling donation to church by November 7th or 8th.
Gift Ideas: Toys (with batteries if needed), School Supplies,
Hygiene Items, Hard candy, T-shirts, socks, ball caps, or
anytyhing else you think a child might like. In a separate
envelope you might like to include a note to the child and a
photo of yourself or your family. If you include your name
and address, the child might write back to you.
Do Not Include: Used or Damaged items; War related
items; chocolate or food; liquids or lotions; medications or
vitamins; breakable items or aerosol cans. Avoid items that
may break in shipment. If you cannot bring your shoe box to
Church, you can send it to; Samaritan's Purse/Operation
Christmas Child, 801 Bamboo Road, Boone, NC 28607 (be
sure to include your $7.00 donation)

The Prayer Circle has added another feature. We used to
have a daytime prayer circle and an evening prayer circle for
those who work. One person would telephone another and it
went from person to person, when it worked as intended.
Then we went to somewhat of a pyramid system and that
worked well if most people were home. Now, a new computer
prayer request/communication system has begun for those
with computers who would like to be notified of concerns.
With this system, one message will be sent out to 15 or more
people at one time. The recipient simply Reads, Deletes and
Prays. This will be very time efficient. Anyone can add his or
her name to our Group. Some, who cannot receive the
newsletter at one's e-mail address at work, have indicated
that reading a short prayer request is allowed. If you would
like to be added to the Group, please e-mail Ruth Mooney at:
ruthellenwv@hotmail.com Your e-mail address will not appear
to others. Of course, we will still have the other system for
those who prefer a phone call or do not have a
computer.Remember: READ, DELETE and PRAY.Most
importantly, please pray. If you have any questions, please call
Ruth at 765-7478
