Christ Church United Methodist Sutton WV - Volume 3 Issue 4 March 2008
February 17th, the second Sunday of Lent , was designated as Youth Sunday this year.
Youth Sunday is not just a day to celebrate the young people in the church, but a time in
which the young people of Christ Church got to show their talents to the adult
congregation and GOD by filling all the positions normally held by the adults in the
Sunday Service. They were greeters, candle lighters, they read the call to worship, led
the prayers and read the opening scripture reading.  The youth choir took the place of
the adult choir in performing special music.  They had adult time in place of youth time,
collected the offering, performed a short skit, gave the sermon and served the
communion sacraments.  They did a wonderful job and I'm sure God was smiling as were
all the adults in the congregation.  The following pictures show the service from
beginning to end.
Worshiper's were met at the door by these
smiling faces
The Call to worship was made and the light of GOD was brought
into the Sanctuary.
The choir sang three songs then the adults were called for Adult time after which the
Tithes and offerings were collected.  A skit called the GOD Shop was performed then
the Sermon "What Would You Give" was shared.  After which Communion was
celebrated.  We all shared in the blessings of the day, hope you were there!
