Mike Keener and Jill Cooper started the Cub Scout toop last year. Mike had to

was unable to continue as Cubmaster due to the birth of her and Mike's baby girl.
Pack 1, Troop 1 would like to thank the Keeners for their hard work in getting the
Troop going once again.
Jill Cooper is the Den Leader for the Tigers and Wolves with Co-Cubmasters Jason
Westfall and Christina Dean assisting. Joy Boyce is the Den Leader for the Bears
and Weblos and is assisted by Marvin Sartin and Kim Morton.
The Cub Scouts meet every Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30 PM in the basement of
Christ Church UM.
A potluck luncheon was held immediately after Sunday's Service in honor of the
Scouts who took part in the Cub Scout Sunday Program. There was plenty of great
food and desserts (of course) ! As you can see in the photos, no one went away
hungry.

Report from Beth Atkins
*The first and second grade Sunday school class is doing a special Bible
study. It is a 52 week study called Bible Explorer.
At this time there are only two students attending
regularly, Covington and Treighton Hacker. The
teachers are Beth Atkins and Dorlis Clifton.
*The program is an exciting Indian adventure story
about two Indian children, White Feather and
Straight Arrow, and their travels leading them home. They are helped along the
way by the Chief*s Son (Jesus) and a map (the Bible).
The students are learning about Jesus and how to follow and obey God in his/her
everyday life. The latest lesson was about Jonah and the whale. The students
learn to listen to what God says and follow.
The students are also learning about the Bible. They can recite the names of the
four Gospels and locate and read verses in both old and new testaments.
Covington and Treighton would love to have more children attend the class. If
anyone knows a first or second grade student please invite or bring them to
Sunday school at 10:00am each Sunday. They are planning a fun trip to
Charleston soon.
