The Annual Senior Thanksgiving Dinner was held on Saturday, November 13, 2007. All
seniors 65 and older were invited to attend and many did just that. The food was great and
the service excellent.  Thanks to the kitchen help!    (Click photo to enlarge)
Lisa, Kim, Les and  Terri fill plates with Turkey, stuffing, veggies and cranberry sauce.
While Katie serves the guests and Amanda cuts the desserts. All we seniors had to do was
eat and chat, and eat and chat.  What a lovely time we all had.  Thank you so much!
This advent prayer is from the Book of Common Prayer, 1661

O Lord Jesu Christ, who at Thy first Coming dist send Thy messenger to prepare
Thy way before Thee;
Grant that the ministers and stewards of Thy mysteries may likewise so prepare
and make ready Thy way,
by turning the hearts of the disobedient to the wisdom of the just,
that at Thy second Coming to judge the world we may be found an acceptable
people in Thy sight,
Who livest and reignest with the Father and the Holy Spirit, ever one God,
world without end
Amen
Sunday, November 25th marked the beginning of Christmas celebrations at
Christ Church UM. After the regular service, the congregation was invited to
stay behind and help decorate the Church for the Christmas season. A soup and
sandwitch lunch was served downstairs. Members of the Shilo congregation were
also included in the invitation to decorate the sanctuary.  Lots of work was
done and lots of soup was eaten. As you can see in the photos everyone had a
great time.                      (Click photo to enlarge)
It wasn't just eating.  Real work was taking place up stairs while folks were
down stairs eating.  Judy directed the balcony crew.
The ribbons had to be just right. It took a whole
group to put the tree together. Others carried
presents up stairs.
The hardest job was
finding the burnt
out lights
I thought you would like to see
the beautiful flowers you sent me
when I was feeling poorly. Thank
you Christ Church members for
your thoughtfulness!

Now the holly bears a berry as white as the milk.
And Mary bore Jesus, who was wrapped up in silk.
And Mary bore Jesus Christ our Savior for to be,
And the first tree in the greenwood, it was the holly.
Now the holly bears a berry as black as the coal.
And Mary bore Jesus who died for us all.
Now the holly bears a berry as blood as it is red.
Then trust we our Savior who rose from the dead.
