Just want to let the church know that I received the most
beautiful vase of flowers yesterday from Christ Church United
Methodist! Such a beautiful surprise!

Thank You to all my friends in the church,  I am enjoying
loving care from my family and am trying to recover as quickly
as I possibly can from this difficult injury!

Thank You for all your cards and prayers!

With Love and Thanks,

The Braxton County 4-H Camp was held from June 18- June 22
at Holly Gray Park. Christ Church UM children rose to the top
in their tribes.  Amanda Vidal was chief of her tribe - the
Delaware Tribe. Additionally she was awarded the Head H - one
of the highest camping awards given.  Andrea and Abigail
experienced their first year at camp and were a delight to the
rest of the camp.

They asserted their independence by joing different tribes
(Mingo and Seneca) so as not to be in competition with each
other - and their olde sister.  Father Les was out of town for
part of the week, so Terri had a quiet and restful week!

Katie Jenkins was also a valuable member of her tribe, the
Cherokee Tribe, and was selected for the Health H the last
night of camp.

These awards carry a return scholarship to camp next year. She
got the award not only for her healthy look and attitude during
the week, but you should see this girl sprint up the hill to the
council circle to retrieve a piece of wood from the council fire.
Katie always had a smile ready for you and was on top of things
during the week.

A big "How-How" to these youth for their efforts, fun and
relationship building work during the week.
Our second movie of the summer was the
cartoon - Open Season.  It was about the
returning to the wild of Boog the bear and
his relationship with the other wild animals!

Then hunting season opened and the
animals went to war with the hunters.  Lots
of laughts !  Free popcorn, cookies and soft
drinks.

We had about thirty people for a cold night
in the parking lot!  See you at the next one!
At the July meeting of the Church Council it was decided that
the financial standing of Christ Church would be published
each month in the Newsletter to keep the congregation
informed as to the Financial well being of the church.  A
decision was also made at the May 6th Council meeting that
the monthly Conference Apportionment balance would not be
paid unless the account balance at the end of the month was
at least $8500. So far, we are four months behind in our
apportionment payments.  It was agreed that we would make a
payment this month so we would not get farther behind.  The
monthly apportionment payment is approximately $1750 giving
us an apportionment deficit of about $7000.

The General Fund Cash Flow for the Month of June is was
